Finance Advisor Low Carbon Solutions & Mobility
Reports to: Low Carbon Solutions Finance Manager
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for closing related activities and timely delivery of the relevant milestones. Serve as a trusted Finance Business Partner to the business by providing proactive day-to-day financial support, commercial insight, performance challenge, and decision-making guidance to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and value creation.
- Develop & manage fit for purpose monthly performance management for business including Latest estimate, cost reviews, key financial KPIs, and any presentation packs for business reviews and other stakeholder engagements.
- Development of robust operational business plans with the business.
- Build and maintain effective relationships within Finance Operations, SOM Finance team, and business locally and regionally.
- Ensure business accounting policies and procedures follow all regulatory & Group Reporting requirements.
- Independently ensure that a proper functioning control framework is in place and that risks are properly understood, reflected and managed.
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to business leaders by providing financial insights, challenging business assumptions, and influencing decision-making.
- Drive value creation through identification of profitability improvement opportunities, margin enhancement initiatives, and cost optimization strategies.
- Support commercial negotiations by providing financial modeling, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and value optimization recommendations.
- Lead assurance reviews of key business processes to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with Group standards.
- Support to monitor working capital performance and identify opportunities to improve cash flow, inventory management, receivables, and payables.
- Support internal/external audit requirements as appropriate.
- Initiate and lead process improvements (Continues Improvement), provide expertise and advise in the area of financial reporting; focus on operational excellence in finance core processes.
Key Challenges:
- Provides finance support across multiple lines of business, each with distinct operating models, and stakeholder groups. Requires the ability to adapt to diverse business needs, manage competing timelines, and effectively balance varying stakeholder expectations while delivering high-quality financial insights and decision support.
- Key challenge for this role is that apart from ensuring quality delivery of core finance activities, the incumbent has to provide leadership to steer the business and challenge to in order for them to be able to meet the business aspirations, annual targets and competition. The business is under challenging environment where there is slowdown in economy and credit crunch in the market. Hence finance support to keep check and provide input in decision making is important.
- The role requires the incumbent to deliver high-quality finance support while partnering with the Finance Manager to provide insights and constructive challenge to the business. The role is critical in supporting decision-making, maintaining financial discipline, and helping the business achieve its objectives and annual targets.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s in accounting / finance or relevant degree as minimum.
- Preferably 3+ years’ work experience, preference for multinational company experience.
- Professional accounting accreditation ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, ACA is preferred.
- Strong motivation in maintaining technical expertise in the field of accounting and reporting to ensure constant updates to knowledge on changes in the accounting standards and policies.
- Experience providing finance support to a business unit is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations and practices is preferred.
- Skilled in MS Office software (especially MS Excel & PowerPoint) and financial modelling.
- Commercial mindset.

- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders with varying levels of financial knowledge.
- Translating detailed analyses into concise, actionable insights for management discussions and presentations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

- Strong technical knowledge, analytical skills and experience to provide accounting and financial advice to finance colleagues and managers.
- Take the lead in resolving issues.
- Ability to multi-task and complete jobs on short notice, without much direct guidance/supervision.
- Strong financial, accounting, and analytical capabilities, with the ability to provide sound advice and recommendations to finance colleagues and business stakeholders.
- Take initiative in investigating, resolving, and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Applies critical thinking and commercial acumen to identify risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously and delivering quality outputs, often within tight timelines and with minimal supervision.

- Acts as a trusted finance partner by providing insights, constructive challenge, and support to stakeholders.
