Job Purpose:

The Team Leader should help Marketing Specialists develop winning customer Value Propositions (CVPs), long term and short term marketing plans in order to drive business in the right direction and to achieve the growth target.

The purpose of this role is to understand and implement the global marketing strategy for the Sectors, Markets or Channels, translating them into a local plan / campaign that will support the achievement of market penetration, brand reputation and financial targets.

The role is ultimately responsible for the quality and results of the marketing programs implemented and ROI (Return on Investment).

The role requires outstanding functional experience of/capability with Distributors, Distributor management, indirect marketing, strategy application, project, risk and change management skills. Outstanding people skills, the ability to build shared vision and deliver result through others are critical success factors for this role. The activities will require very close collaboration with Global and Cluster teams, functional work amongst Sales, Marketing, Indirect Excellence and other Class of Businesses (CoBs). 

In addition, significant stakeholder management activities need to be carried out. Significantly growing the indirect business, building Indirect capability and sustainability in compliance with stringent Antitrust and Anti Bribery and Corruption rules are the key focus areas for Global Lubricants. The successful candidate would expand or further solidify their expertise in this critical space of distributor management, indirect marketing, and likely broaden future career options.

Principal Accountabilities:

The allocation of responsibilities should mirror the following guideline:

  • Indirect Channel by:
    Set and plan Indirect growth agenda , aligning with Lubricants Roadmap strategy. 
  • In field support to indirect sales teams on the implementation of indirect B2B, B2C and marketing initiatives to support accelerated growth for indirect channel
  • Support the development of and help implement network plan, including Go-forward Distributor footprint
  • Support development of local recruitment and on-boarding processes of distributors meeting global and local standards
  • Work with local/regional/global Pricing and Marketing teams to establish indirect pricing strategy
  • Define optimal direct / indirect prospecting rules for targeted sectors
  • Support customer transfer process development and implementation (from Direct Sales) to distributors as appropriate
  • Ensure strong implementation and take-up of key Indirect policies, Distributor Offer Book and Shell standard contract usage and compliance
  • Track and drive the implementation of network sustainability reviews, marketing initiative development and implementation using standard processes and tools; Monitoring and assessing competitive channel and distributor marketing activities and support the development of central and local programmes to utilize opportunities or deal with risks as well as coaching and acting as Marketing Focal Point for the CoB.
  • The role will be the focal point in Marketing for the Company. Will coordinate all Marketing activities and be responsible for their reporting. Will coach and develop the Marketing Specialist reporting to him/her to their maximum potential

  • Professional distributor management capability of our internal indirect team as well as addressing the identified risk related with network, distributor capability and market dynamics.

Job Requirements:

  • University graduate with minimum 7 years working experience Sales / Marketing field preferably in a generalist role.
  • The candidate should show strategic thinking ability, as well as a strong performance track record.
    Experience in B2B marketing. Experience in Lubes would be an advantage. However, we do not exclude the possibility that outstanding candidates without this experience could be selected.
  • Fluent Arabic and English
  • Good Communication skills
  • Active team player
  • Omani nationality
