It was the coming together of two business leaders in Oman. Shell Oman Marketing Co. SAOG and Oman Trading and Establishment to the celebrate 10 million litres of lubricant sales, since their recent partnership. Oman trading establishment is the sole Distributor of Shell packed lubricants to the channels of High Street, Retail fuel stations and Independent small workshops in Oman.
The event was held on 2 March 2008 at Crowne Plaza, chaired by Managing Director of Shell Oman, Mr. Faisal Al Hashar. Present on this occasion were dignitaries from both organisations and included
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Faisal Al Hashar said, “We value our alliance with OTE as they have contributed to Shell Oman’s growth and expansion of the lubricants business in channels of high street shops, Retail & the small independent workshops.
“The previous contract provedsaw some remarkable growth, to be remarkableas Shell Oman and OTE partnered to set new records in sales and market share growth. Volumes in the channels distributed by OTE in the contract period grew by 60% and touched 10 million litres. The performance of individual brands in the same channels were also remarkable – for example; Shell Helix grew by 107%, Shell Rotella by 80% and Shell Rimula by 380%,” added Mr. Waqar Siddiqi, General Manager-Commercial at Shell Oman. “Overall Shell Lubricant volumes locally grew by 75% across all channels strengthening our market shares, he added.
This success story is attributable to both teams of Shell Oman and OTE for an enduring successful association, one that has taken them to higher levels of business excellence.
