1-year-old Wins a Suzuki Alto in GCC Traffic Week Draw Sponsored by Shell Oman

It was a dream come true for Hamed Zaher Al Kharoosi's family as its youngest member Zakaria Al Kharousi won a Suzuki Alto as part of the Shell Oman GCC Traffic Week Lucky Draw.

The draw was held at Shell Oman Marketing office, Mina Al Fahal on 15 April 2008, as little Zakaria was announced the winner of the Suzuki Alto. The draw was hosted by Colonel/ Mohammed Al-Rawas, Acting Director General of ROP Traffic Departement.

The GCC Traffic Week drew an extraordinary response from motorists throughout the Sultanate especially the raffle draw, which featured the Suzuki Alto as the grand prize. Shell Oman like every year promoted the importance of road safety and created awareness on how motorists can ensure safety by taking basic precautionary steps. This year’s theme for the GCC Traffic Week was “Wrong overtaking- kills” and the dangers that come with it. For this leaflets and coupons were distributed at all Shell Service Stations and motorists were asked to fill in simple questions on road safety and submit their entries at the various drop boxes allotted by Shell.

Mr. Abdulwahid Al Farsi, External Affairs Manager of Shell Oman said: “We at Shell are committed towards our Sustainable Development Programme to ensure the benefit of the society and to serve the people at large. This is a step towards promoting and contributing towards the progress of Oman. We received a huge response from our predication in the GCC Traffic Week as it had an added attraction of a Suzuki Alto as the grand prize”.
